Pathogen targeted next generation sequencing (ptNGS)

PtNGS uses a large number of primers for the target pathogen to perform multiplex PCR amplification of nucleic acids in the sample, followed by simultaneous sequencing analysis of these amplification products by high-throughput sequencing. PtNGS amplifies the signal of amplified targets by PCR at the nucleic acid capture stage of pathogens, and then uses high-throughput sequencing to simultaneously detect the amplified products to realize the quantitative analysis of pathogens, which well combines the high sensitivity of PCR technology and the high specificity of high-throughput sequencing and becomes a detection technology with both sensitivity and specificity.
